Hello and Welcome!
The way we see ourselves has a huge impact on our personal relationships, mental health, and overall success. Poor self image and low self-esteem can cause depression, anxiety, addiction, and relationships issues. I find that once a person becomes comfortable in their own skin they are able to live a more happy and empowered life.
I am a self-esteem therapist who focuses on building coping skills, finding your hidden strengths and talents, and getting you out of negative thought patterns that keep you stuck. I have practiced counseling and psychotherapy for over five years and assisted many of my clients overcome eating disorders, addiction, relationship issues, and childhood trauma. The best compliment I have ever received was that my therapeutic approach “was like talking to a friend.” I use an eclectic approach to therapy incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychodynamic theories to give you a safe, non-judgmental place where you can express yourself and who you are fully!
I am trained in Motivational Interviewing and possess continuing education in trauma informed therapy.
I am an associate of marriage and family therapist (MFTI #85262) registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, and am supervised by David Caulfield MFC#14452 at The Center for Counseling & Education. I received a masters degree in marriage and family therapy from Hope International University where I focused on the impact of childhood sexual abuse on emotional and mental health. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing and non-traditional therapies including pet-assisted therapy and art-based therapy.
